LONDON. PATENT BREECH LOADER' (worn), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, Charles Lancaster patent slide-and-tilt action with rotary-underlever, recessed bosses, striker discs, non-rebounding back-action locks with high-spurred hammers of hare's-ear form, the breasts of the hammers hitting the strikers, bold acanthus scroll engraving, the lockplates with 'C. LANCASTER LONDON PATENT' in scrolling banners, the action bar with 'CHARLES LANCASTER'S PATENT', the triggerguard tang with three pheasants, 14 1/4in. stock with steel buttplate (some repairs to woodwork), weight 7lb. 3oz.
